He is tied for second among Power 5 quarterbacks, one off the lead, with 16 touchdown passes of at least 20 yards and has accounted for three or more touchdowns in eight of his 11 starts this season. A Council Bluffs, Iowa, native, Duggan leads the Big 12 in passing efficiency, touchdown passes (29), completion percentage (66.6), passing yards (3,070), yards per attempt (9.3) and yards per completion (13.9). The game-winning drive also came with TCU not having any timeouts available. He completed 7-of-9 passes for 83 yards while rushing four times for 33 yards on the two drives. With a 73-yard touchdown pass to Taye Barber and a 67-yard scoring run just 1:18 apart against Oklahoma, Duggan became just the second player nationally in the last 15 years and first since Lamar Jackson in 2016 with a touchdown pass and touchdown run of at least 60 yards in the first quarter of a game. Duggan is TCU's first Davey O'Brien Award finalist since Trevone Boykin in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. - TCU Football

His third career forced fumble came at West Virginia on a corner blitz and led to a TCU touchdown. Most recently, he had two pass breakups and a tackle for loss as part of three stops in this past Saturday's 62-14 win over Iowa State to cap a 12-0 regular season for TCU. A senior from Waco, Texas, Hodges-Tomlinson is a two-time First-Team All-Big 12 selection and a 2020 All-American. His five career interceptions top all current Horned Frogs. - TCU Football

TCU quarterback Max Duggan has already collected a few significant awards after leading the Horned Frogs to a 12-0 regular season. Duggan was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the 2022 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner on Wednesday. He's also a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award (nation's top quarterback) and the Walter Camp Player of the Year award. All major accomplishments, but many are wondering if Duggan will be a finalist for the most coveted award of them all; the Heisman Trophy. Horned Frogs fans won't have to wait much longer to find out if Duggan will get an invite to New York City for the trophy presentation on Dec. 10. A big performance by Duggan against No. 10 Kansas State in the Big 12 championship game at 11 a.m. Saturday would certainly help his case. - Fort Worth Star

Oregon State quarterback Chance Nolan, who started the Beavers' first five games before heading to the sideline with a neck injury, has put his name in the transfer portal. Nolan, a fifth-year junior, started 17 consecutive games, including the final 12 of the 2021 season. Late in the first quarter against Utah on Oct. 1, Nolan was tackled when running the ball and left the game. It was later announced as a neck strain. Third-year freshman Ben Gulbranson has started OSU's last seven games. He is 6-1 as the Beavers' starting quarterback.

Nolan completed 66 of 111 passes for 939 yards and eight touchdowns this season. During his three-year OSU career, the former JC transfer completed 316 of 520 passes for 4,153 yards. Oregon State is losing senior quarterback Tristan Gebbia from its roster in addition to Nolan. Expected to return next season are Gulbranson and freshmen Travis Throckmorton and Dom Montiel. High school senior Aidan Chiles, a 4-star quarterback prospect, made a verbal commitment to OSU and is expected to sign later in December. - The Oregonian

Kendre Miller ran for two touchdowns as fourth-ranked TCU completed the first undefeated regular season by a Big 12 team since 2009 with a 62-14 victory over Iowa State on Saturday, getting the Horned Frogs closer to making the four-team College Football Playoff. Max Duggan threw TDs to three receivers for the Frogs (12-0, 9-0 Big 12, No. 4 CFP), who still have the Big 12 championship game to play next Saturday in coach Sonny Dykes' first season. But they will go into that as one of only three undefeated teams remaining. A week after having to score nine points in the final 2 minutes, 7 seconds at Baylor, and getting the game-ending field goal when out of timeouts and the clock running, TCU led 17-0 with scores on each of its three drives against the Big 12's top defense. Iowa State (4-8, 1-8) had given up 16.5 points a game, the most being 31 and with only two teams scoring more than 24. The Frogs led 24-0 at the end of the first quarter on Millard Bradford's 36-yard interception return for their first defensive touchdown this season. Josh Newton added another one with his 57-yard pick and score after halftime.

It was the most-lopsided loss for Iowa State since 55-3 in the regular-season finale at TCU in 2014, the inaugural season for the four-team playoff and when there was no Big 12 title game. One-loss TCU went into that game No. 3, but dropped to sixth in the final CFP rankings the next day. That was one spot below one-loss Baylor, the only team to beat the Frogs. Ohio State was fourth after a 59-0 win in the Big Ten title game. Miller's 25-yard TD run in the first quarter marked his 13th consecutive game with a rushing touchdown, the nation's longest active streak. He added a 1-yard score, his 16th of the season, on fourth down at the end of the first half for a 34-7 lead. Duggan hit a wide-open Geor'Quarius Spivey for a 19-yard TD pass on fourth-and-2 on the game's opening drive. Duggan finished 17 of 24 for 212 yards. The last time the Frogs got this deep into a season undefeated was 2010, then in Mountain West, when they finished 13-0 and with a No. 2 national ranking after winning the Rose Bowl. - TCU/AP College Football

NOV 21 BIG 12 Special Teams PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Griffin Kell, TCU, PK, Sr.,...With no timeouts and the final seconds ticking off the clock, TCU's field goal unit ran onto the field with Kell converting a 40-yarder as time expired for a 29-28 win at Baylor. It was his only field goal attempt of the game and kept the Horned Frogs undefeated on the season. - Big 12 Football

Griffin Kell kicked a 40-yard field goal on the final play of the game, and fourth-ranked TCU beat Baylor 29-28 on Saturday, scoring nine points in the final 2:07 to avoid another potential playoff-busting loss on the banks of the Brazos River. Emari Demercardo scored on a 3-yard TD run with 2:07 left to get the Frogs (11-0, 8-0 Big 12, No. 4 CFP) within 28-26, but he was unable to pull in a pass on the 2-point conversion attempt. After kicking deep, TCU used all three of its timeouts while forcing a three-and-out, and got the ball back with 1:34 left at its 31. Max Duggan converted one third down with a 12-yard scramble, and after Demarcardo's third-down run to the Baylor 23, the field goal unit scrambled onto the field with the clock running. The kick by Kell, who earlier had an extra-point attempt clank off the upright, went through as time ran out.

TCU, which had already clinched a spot in the Big 12 championship game, hasn't been undefeated this deep in a season since 2010, when it finished 13-0 with a Rose Bowl victory and No. 2 national ranking. When the Frogs played at McLane Stadium for the first time in 2014, after the facility first opened, they lost 61-58. That was their only loss that season, and they went on to share the Big 12 title with Baylor. They were the first two teams left out of the inaugural four-team College Football Playoff. Baylor (6-5, 4-4) was coming off a 31-3 home loss to Kansas State a week earlier, but last year's Big 12 champions took a 28-20 lead after a pair of true freshmen scored TDs early in the fourth quarter: tight end Kelsey Johnson's 12-yard catch, and Richard Reese's 1-yard run. - TCU/AP College Football

NOV 14 BIG 12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Johnny Hodges, TCU, LB, Jr.,...Hodges had a team-best and season-high 11 tackles, more than double the next-closest Horned Frog, to lead a strong defensive effort in No. 4 TCU's 17-10 win over No. 18 Texas. The Horned Frogs held Texas to three offensive points, 199 yards and 1-of-13 third-down conversions. The junior LB had 1.5 tackles for loss as part of his 11 stops and combined on a tackle for no gain on a 4th-and-1 Bijan Robinson rush on Texas' opening series to set the tone for the game. - Big 12 Football

Kendre Miller rushed for 138 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown in the third quarter that broke open a tense defensive struggle, and No. 4 TCU beat No. 18 Texas 17-10 on Saturday night to clinch a berth in the Big 12 championship game. TCU quarterback Max Duggan, who was sacked four times in the first half and hounded all game, connected with Quentin Johnston for a 31-yard touchdown over broken coverage in the fourth quarter.

The TCU defense turned in its best game of the season. The Horned Frogs held Texas running back Bijan Robinson to 29 yards, gave up just 199 total yards, and forced Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers into a miserable passing night. The Horned Frogs allowed Texas a single field goal on consecutive drives inside the TCU 10 in the second half. The win keeps the Horned Frogs (10-0, 7-0) undefeated and in the hunt for even bigger things under first-year coach Sonny Dykes. They are No. 4 in the College Football Playoff ranking. Texas (6-4, 4-3, No. 18 CFP) hasn't scored an offensive touchdown in the second half of each of the last three games. The Longhorns' only touchdown against TCU came on Jahdae Barron's scoop-and-score on a 48-yard fumble return late in the fourth quarter. - TCU/AP College Football
